Let's start with something very fun as it's that time of year again for the Designer Darling Competition! This is not only a way to win a spot to sell your kits at Stuff to Scrap but also a great way to improve on your designing skills. If you're interested in participating, head over to the forum for more information & to sign up; the competition will start on February 1, 2012 & will run for 6 weeks.
On to the challenges! The Word of the Week Challenge runs from Sunday, December 4th to Saturday, December 10th & this week's word is Cheerful. So many things to be cheerful about this holiday season, it's going to be hard to choose! Post your layouts in this week's WOW thread by Saturday night to earn your points. Remember that to earn the bonus points, you need to complete each week's challenge, you can find the WOW rules & point tracking thread right here.
The Challenge of the Week runs from Sunday, December 4th to Saturday, December 10th & this week we have been given a Number 4 challenge. You'll need to make a layout using 4 papers, 4 photos, 4 clusters made of 4 embellishments, & use the number 4 somewhere in your title/journaling. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with! Post your layouts in this week's COW thread by Saturday night to earn your points. Remember that to earn the bonus points, you need to complete each week's challenge, you can find the COW rules & point tracking thread right here.
This week's Featured Designer Challenge is brought to you Lahni of Queen Wild Scraps & will run from Monday, December 5th to Sunday, December 11th. Here's some fun information about Lahni & a preview of the participation prize you'll get if you post a layout by next Sunday night. Even better, Lahni has put her whole store on sale for 50% off until Sunday so if you don't have any of her fabulous products yet, now you've got a great excuse to pick one up!
To complete this challenge, you simply need to create a layout using any current kits that are for sale in Lahni's store [retired kits will not count]. You use one of Lahni's templates [not including any of her freebie templates] & a kit from another designer at STS or you can use one of Lahni's new kits in the store. Hurry & get those layouts done to earn the participation prize!
But there's more fun to be had!
On Wednesday, December 7th at 7 PM PT / 8 PM MT / 9 PM CT / 10 PM ET there will be a designer chat in the Chat Room with coupons for a few lucky participants & an alpha to go along with the kit for everyone! Starting on Monday, December 5th there will also be a scavenger hunt posted in the forum & if you complete it you'll earn a coordinating pack of cardstocks & glitter sheets. A few lucky participants will also win a coupon to Lahni's store!
Since Lahni's challenge starts tomorrow, you've still got a few more hours to submit a layout for the current week's challenge hosted by Heather of HD Creations & earn the participation prize!
The week's first speed scrap will be tonight Sunday, December 4 at 6 PM PT / 7 PM MT / 8 PM CT / 9 PM ET & will be hosted by Ashley of Seal Scraps. Come join Ashley & other forum members in the chat room or follow along in the speed scrap thread. The participation prize is a $4 coupon to her store & as Ashley's having a big retirement sale right now you can get your choice of 4 retiring kits or grab a brand new one!

The Fine Print: You'll earn points on almost all of the challenges & when you reach 500 points, you'll receive a $5.00 gift card to the Stuff to Scrap store to purchase anything that catches your fancy. Points roll over from month to month & do not expire! Please remember that to earn any extra bonus points, you must state in your challenge post that you've used 90% or more current STS products or you will not earn the bonus points. There is no double dipping with challenges, i.e. you cannot use a layout made for a speed scrap for one of the monthly challenges or use one layout for two challenges. The only exception is a double page layout where each side is for a different challenge. The use of quick pages for challenge layouts are not allowed, all layouts must be made from scratch or with a template. You are most welcome to make a post in the December Challenge Round-up thread to keep track of all the challenges & points you've earned. As always, any layouts featured in this post are linked to the gallery for easy love leaving.
