Countdown to Christmas ~ Day 5

I think I'm totally into the Christmas spirit now, it always takes a few days after Thanksgiving to get in gear but after just a few days of these great freebies, I'm ready to cover the house in fake snow! Today's freebie & story comes to you from Jennifer of Knittinjen, look at that face!

Such an adorable sequence of pictures, I'm pleased to say we're already on our way with pictures like this at our house! Jennifer has this great memory to share with us today.

"What I remember most about Christmas is that as a child, my Christmas was the EXACT American Christmas that all kids want to have! Not like the "Christmas Story" but more like this: The weekend after Thanksgiving, the Christmas bins came out from under the stairs in the basement and we decorated the Christmas tree (REAL of course) and put up all the decorations all over our house. "We" being me and my brother and mom and dad. With the 2 dogs running around having great fun! THE typical suburban family. Then some weeks later, my brother and I would have our picture taken with Santa at the local mall (here are 4 years worth of pix with Santa - dang I was cute!!!) and tell him what we want, and on Christmas eve we would put out cookies and milk, and try to stay up, and fail, and wake up to TONS of presents under the tree, wrapped in beautiful sparkly paper with matching sparkly bows. We would open a ton of presents, getting everything we wanted and then some, and then our aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc, would come over and MORE gifts would be exchanged. The only thing missing was church, as my parents were not church-goers, but somehow the beautifully-lit tree always caused me to kneel down and pray thanks to a God I barely even knew for the lovely life that I had. Christmas still reminds me of how thankful I can be, and I am still grateful for having such a nice family to grow up in!"

What a wonderful memory Jennifer! And here's Jennifer's freebie, click on preview to go to the store to pick up the mini & enjoy. I think I see some gold rings in the living room, must go grab them before the boys do!

** This freebie has expired but you can still pick it up in the store for just $1.99! **

Hello, I tried to get knittinjen's kit, but it doesn't show up as free it shows up as 1.99 - is that supposed to be correct - it's about 7:45pm on Sunday PST - so I think it's today's freebie according to the blog. Could you help me, please. Thanks, Stacey

Sorry about that! Must be a technical snafu, until then I've put up links to a 4shared download that you can snag the kit from. You'll find them just above the preview.
