Before we move on to the third day of our new blog schedule, I have to mention something that totally slipped my mind yesterday. From now on, we won't be featuring any layouts by Stuff to Scrap Creative Team members on this blog ... but that's because they now have their very own blog! To get to the new Creative Team blog just head to the Stuff to Scrap Inspiration Page; if you're not viewing this in a feed reader, at the top of the page you'll see a link called Inspirations, click on that to see all the lovely layouts. You might just want to keep an eye on that blog as well since the CTs might just be making some exclusive freebies *one's up right now!* to go with their layouts.
Hi-ho & off to today's post! Every Sunday I'll be posting the new challenges for the week, remember that these challenges only run for one week so you'll want to get them done as soon as possible to earn your points or prize! First up is the Word of the Week Challenge which runs from Sunday, August 28 to Saturday, September 3. In honor of the start of school, this week's word is Learn. Post your layouts in this week's WOW thread by Saturday night to earn your points. Remember that to earn the bonus points, you need to complete each week's challenge, you can find the WOW rules & point tracking thread right here.
Next is the Challenge of the Week Challenge *say that five times fast!* just like the WOW Challenge, this runs from Sunday, August 28 to Saturday, September 3. This week's challenge is going to be quite the challenge for a lot of us, it's an Out of Bounds challenge. This refers to the technique where you take a picture & extract part of it to make it stick out from the rest of the photo or out of the frame. Be sure to check out this week's COW thread for some examples of the technique; you can really get some cool layouts using this type of extraction but make sure to post by Saturday night to earn your points. Remember that to earn the bonus points, you need to complete each week's challenge, you can find the COW rules & point tracking thread right here.
If you haven't noticed the recent change to the Featured Designer Challenge, it's now a weekly instead of a monthly challenge. Each week you'll have a chance to earn a prize if you create a layout with a current kit for sale in the featured designer's store. This week's challenge is brought to you Tracy of Growing Pains Scrapped & will run from Monday, August 29 to Sunday, September 4. Here's some fun information about Tracy & a preview of the prize you'll get if you post a layout by next Sunday night!
Since Tracy's challenge starts tomorrow, you've still got a few more hours to submit a layout for the current week's challenge hosted by Scraps of Ellay & earn the super cute participation prize.
Finally, here are the Speed Scraps for this week. Tracy of Growing Pains Scrapped is hosting a speed scrap where you can pick up an add on for her Featured Designer Challenge prize. That means if you complete the challenge & speed scrap, you'll have a huge new kit to scrap with! Tracy's speed scrap will be Monday, August 29 at 10 AM PST / 11 AM MST / 12 PM CST / 1 PM EST; join Tracy in the chat room or follow along in the forum.
This week's other speed scrap will be hosted by Paula of CutieFruity & she's offering a cute little mini kit as a participation prize.
