Meet a Designer - Flower Scraps

Let's start with the basics:
Name: Deanna - but please call me De
Username at Stuff to Scrap:Deanna
Blog Address: http://flowerscrap.blogspot.com
Store: atm my only store is at One Single Seed

Now that you know which designer we're talking too, lets learn a little more about them and family comes first:

Husband: Dan - married 6 years and counting!
Kids: 3 so far :P Eileen - 4, Anna - 2 1/2, Aaron - 1. Also got one more on the way... yes I know... I'm crazy. :P
Pets: Umm, we had a black cat named Ike, but he "R-U-N-N-O-F-T"

What do you like doing with your family?

Anything!! Love being with them!! We love trips to the Zoo, the library, the playground. We love being outside and doing anything from flying a kite to having water gun fights! My hubby and I also love watching movies and playing games - all games, board games, video games, whatever!!

It's an alternate universe and you're computer won't turn on for an entire week, what do you do with yourself?

ummm, commit suicide?? (J/K!!!!) honestly, the same things I do when I'm not at the computer. READ, READ, READ!!! I am such a book worm it is scary! I might (if I ran out of books) play the wii some. Or I might just pull out all my Jane Austen books and re-read them for the 50th time then pull out all the movies and watch those too.... Or I might sit and do Suduko puzzles all day. Or regular puzzles - put one of those out and I'm hooked and can't leave it alone!!

Alright, the computer's all better - let's talk digi-scrapping for a few minutes.

When did you start Digi-scrapping?
Summer '08 - a friend from church got me hooked.

When did you start designing and how did you learn?
haha - summer '08. I love learning how to do things and I love to create. I started teaching myself how to use photoshop when my oldest was born and loved learning how to apply all that I had learned to scrapbooking and designing and learning new things. I learned the slow way!!! I would see things in kits and then try to make them by trial and error. Some good stuff came from it, and some not so much so! Just look at my early kits and you will see what I mean!! LOL

What program/programs do you use to design?
Haha, I'm one of those hard core PC people - can't help it I was raised by a computer programmer and an engineer, and I married a computer programmer!! I design and digi-scrap in Photoshop CS2

Where do you get your inspiration?
everywhere!! My kids, my hubby, clothes, fabric at the craft stores, events in my life, a photo that I want to scrap... my first kit ever was inspired by a dress my daughter had.

How did you pick your digi-scrap name?
My kids are my "flower garden" they create beauty in my life and I love nurturing them and watching the beauty that develops as they grow and learn. They are the main subject of my scrapping - hence Flower Scraps

What’s your favorite kit that you've designed?
ummm, my favorite kit is usually the most recently finished one... I always get soo excited about my kits before I release them! Right now my fav is one that hasn't been released yet called "Memories of the Orient" It is scheduled to be released to the store at the end of this month. I LOVE this kit!!!

Alright, this is a hard one, but what's your least favorite?
This one isn't really that hard for me. While I was going through my kits getting stuff ready for opening shop at OSS, I was looking at my old kits trying to figure out if any of them could be updated and fixed up to go into the store and I found my second kit ever called Cooking Time - this kit had a grand total of 2 redeeming qualities... 2 elements that I LOVE - the rest had to GOOOOOO!!
Describe yourself in one word: wierd... :P

Share a secret with us, what's something that not everyone knows about you?
umm I'm a horrendous pack rat - not a huge secret (anyone who's been to my house can see that) but I'm soo not good at stuff like this!!!

If I said you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
Greek Island Hopping cruise, or back to France.

What is your favorite food?
mmmm - soo hard to pick. Love Italian food - love Mexican food - love Indian cooking - mmm this is sooooo making me hungry...

Do you collect anything?
like Manda i have a collection of Precious Moments figures that were given to me by my grandmother. I also love to collect classic books.

What is your favorite TV show?
ok - you are all really going to think I'm wierd... we don't get any channels at our house - not even the basics. Don't want them. The only TV shows I watch are ones that we have recorded on DVDs and the ones half of you will have never heard of some of them. I watch Kim Possible, Red Dwarf, MASH, Red Green, My Hero, umm that's it.

What is your favorite color?
blue I guess - dunno
